Hampstead 3 - 0 Beeston

Beeston set off down the M1 expecting heavy rain as predicted, but it never materialised. They joined the Aston Villa and Manchester United fans as they headed south. If only Beeston had turned right at Cricklewood and headed for Wembley. They didn't.

Hampstead proceeded to kill the result within the opening 16 minutes with an early strike from Welshman, Andy Cornick, and a brace from Will Naylor. Game, set and match. Hampstead climbed clear of any relegation worries and Beeston slipped into 5th place with an uninspiring display and their worst performance of the season.

Beeston forward, Jamie Parker, making his 50th National League appearance summed up the day. "We were disappointing. We need to put this one to bed and concentrate on next week's double header. Occasionally, you have a day when the whole squad misfires today was one of those days."

Beeston meet Exeter University in the Premier Division on Saturday 6th March 2.00pm and meet Doncaster in the Quarter Final of the England Hockey Cup, on Sunday 7th 2.00pm. Both matches are at home at Highfields Hockey Centre.
